This is the second book of a series (Raven Maxim); however, EACH BOOK IN THIS SERIES IS A STAND-ALONE, FULL LENGTH NOVEL.
PLEASE NOTE This is a complete story that is divided into two parts due to the size of the work. This solution is referred to as a "double novel." Part 1 and Part 2 are being released on the exact same day, at the exact same time. Part 1 is entitled “White Trash.” Part 2 is entitled “Black Class.” There is no lingering cliffhanger since both books are available for purchase simultaneously, avoiding any wait time whatsoever for readers.
Although the Raven Maxim books are all part of a series, they are stand-alone stories. The reader is not obligated to read them in order, nor are they required to read the entire collection. The best revenge is a life well lived. No matter your station in life, at some point, if you are lucky as Dean was (after life had tested his last nerve) he came to the realization that he was so much more than his current situation or past mistakes. We were each born alone and shall die alone and what happens in between is what we owe to ourselves. Dean sat with himself and realized freedom wasn't free. So he readjusted, listened and learned to become the true man he knew that he was, worthy of a place on earth that was his to claim and a ride or die true love. Marilyn came through with her love but also with the bad to the bone power she held. Because of her professional skills, she knew people high up on the food chain. We get to really delve into the head of "the" complex and abrasive Marilyn from Book 1, and I had to admit in the end, I had a huge dose of respect for her and her journey. I absolutely love Rose. She had a very pivotal role in these two books. Although not in many scenes, she commanded the view with her words and presence. She was also the keeper of the most important piece of this story quite cleverally written and spaced for maximum effect. Her story made me drop a tear. Such an amazing ending to see how everyone that was involved in the story played a part. The Multiple Tiana twists were expected but I still was not close to being prepared for the Tiana Turn. Everything is tied into a nice bow and in some matters a knot. WOW! Closure set the captives free. The revelations are jaw dropping. All of my guesses were wrong. I'm a suck sleuth. Whatever. Revenge served up rare was delicious. Charred on the top and edges just so. So good. I love when there are no questions when it says "The End." I love when you get to spend a few years with the characters after they settle in and are living their lives. My time with this book was very well spent.Product details

Black Class, what can I say? Descriptive and totally on point. It's unfortunate the lessons that sometimes dominant the rearing of children regardless of color. Ones that encompass a certain standard that oftentimes neglect the basis of a life filled with a semblance to include a bit of harmony. Or that lack the understanding that words have the power to shape a life, destroy a dream or permit growth from one stage to another. Just as Marilyn struggled to re-acquaint herself with the joys of basic childlike behavior that were foreign to her, or Dean's lessons of transitional adult behavior that never progressed, they both, the white trash and the black class labels, hindered both characters their growth and acceptance. Not only in society, but in humanity. This forced both to reluctantly play catchup, while simultaneously fighting tooth and nail to hold on to what was comfortable, familiar. But change is inevitable like it or not. And you have to be willing, at least a little bit, for this missing evolution to occur at all. So for a man who recognized his alpha pedigree, and the female he claims who comes to recognize her own alpha status, this road of redemption and forgiveness no doubt is filled with bumps and jagged scar and blood drawing roads that are capable of downing a lesser man. But thankfully when they choose to travel it together, they find that magic indeed exists and that happily ever after is real and attainable. I encourage all those that read this review to take a chance, and experience what it means to let go and try new things. You'd be surprised what could fall into your lap when you step out on faith and truly give life a try.
Ok I just finished reading these 2 books (part 1 & 2) written by a friend of mine, I call her friend because once you start reading her books, you start to get into her head, this woman can write the hell out of a book. You ever read a book and its so good, that you're pissed that you're finished? You enjoyed the damn thing so much that you literally say, 'really... seriously, did you have to come to an end?' Yeah, I know with all I have to do, where do I find the time to read, well if you're me, you just do. Moments on the bus, in between a moment, falling asleep at night... or rather in the morning, sitting on the toilet... but this is one of my 2 addictions, BOOKS & MOVIES... they help me think, absorb and inspire me. But I don't care who you are, you will enjoy this read by author Tiana Laveen,. yeah.. male or female... I laughed, I cried (and I know you males would not admit you cried to certain parts, but it will take you there) but wow this lady is always outdoing herself, imma have to go read the damn books again and pretend I didn't just finish... I mean seriously, she coulda just kept it going... lol ... I hate when good books come to an end... it just ain't fair.. you gotta go read this, Dean and Marilyn's story will take you there... but sorry you will feel like me, hating. to. see. it. end.
So much character development, the complete arc of these 2 characters Dean and Marilyn will take you there. I love their steadfastness in standing up and for one another.... are just some of the things that makes you fall in love with many aspects of this book. The many people that made up this amazing story, from Dean's family (don't want to give anything away), his best friend Tommy, his exxxxxx..... all in all this story will tear you up, spit you out and make you want more... too good to end... more please....
I said I gotta go write up my review about this book.. but I'm pissed at myself too for reading so fast, but that's what happens when you get caught up in a good book. Anyways my advise.... Take a peak, you won't regret it... <3 <3
